Oasis is a response to a competition promoted by the norwegian organization 120 hours. The aim of the competition was to introduce innovative architectural elements to preserve the deserted Russian coal-mining settlement of Pyramiden. This complex located in one of the northest points of Europe has very adverse weather conditions. This extreme circumnstances implied to introduce protection elements that allow humans to visit it. Oasis proposal represents the reproduction of the iconic utopian dome by Buckmister Fuller as a preservation tool and the creation of a macro-scene with a micro-climate conditions that allows regenerating the area and preserving its architecture and landscape.
